FUNERAL OF SERGT. PHILLIPS.
Tiik deceased being a Sergeant in the Thames Scottish Volunteers, was buried yesterday afternoon with military honors. At the hour appointed, Volunteers to the number of nearly 100, including, besides a majority of tbe T.S.V., representatives from nearly every company in the district. The fine band of the Bides was in attendance under Bandmaster Morris, as was nlso the drum and five band of the Naval Brigade. The coffin was placed on a gtin-carriage by some of the former comrades of the deceased, and tbe procession with two bands playing alternately, wended their way slowly to tbe cemetery. Besides the Volunteers there were present a large number of civilians, who had assembled to pay tlicir last token of respect to tbe dead. The usual three were excellently well fired by a party of the T.S.V., under Captain Murray. On the conclusion of the ceremony, the company marched back to their parade ground, headed by the two bands.
