(kuum okh own col; lil'S ton dent). February 22. The severe gales and floods on Monday and Tuesday bad the cllect. amongst other damage, of rendering the trnmway impassahlo, in consequence oi landslips, Ac., and the batteries have been idle for the last two days.
The Harbour View lias stt'jck gold m ; its main tunnel, and the spirits of the I shareholders, ns well as the scrip, have j risen in consequence. J ThcTokatcaG.M.C. has not taken outgood j stuff lately, and the 1.4400 z. in bank will j be sold for current expenses, instead of | paying a dividend, until the low level ! tunnel has struck the reef with good prosj pects. It has been determined to give up crushing at the New Zealand Company’s Battery, as the expenses —£250 a month —are too heavy for poor stuff. The John Bull took out good specimens from a leader cut last night, and believed to be really and truly that of the Green Harp. The other claims on the beach are looking well, and bid fair to rival the j mines on the ranges, j The stuff from the Emily, at the Tiki, is looking well on tbc plates of its own battery, and a return of about 2oz. to the ton is confidently expected.
