THEATRE ROYAL.

THE ZAVISTOWSKI SISTERS,

These young ladies, of whom universal report speaks in glowing terms, will make their first appearance to-night at the Theatre Royal, in the burlesque of “ Ixion,” which ran for 17 consecutive nights in San Francisco, amid tho greatest applause. The Theatre Royal has been greatly altered and improved. The gallery has been formed into a dress circle, and been re-ilecorateil and made very comfortable. Smoking will he prohibited, and we hope the audience will support Mr Jones, the lessee, in enforcing this prohibition. It is impossible for singers to exercise their vocal pow’ers properly’ amid a volume of smoke, and when it is known that the practice is especially disagreeable to these ladies, we arc sure Mr Jones has only to appeal to the gentlemanly feeling of those present to induce a ready compliance with his wishes. Our contemporaries in Australia have been especially lavish of their praises of the Zavistowskis, and doubtless not without cause. One of the neatest bits of eulogy passed upon the sisters which wc have seen is contained in the following acrostic, by 11. Ilac, of Melbourne: — Z calous, to please, with genius fired, A ngelie creatures, love inspired ! Y oiccs like bells of silver, sweet; T ncompnrable hair and eyes anil feet : 8 carclicd has the poet artist long T o find an ideal child of song O f perfect mould, and Toice. and grace, AY ith brilliant wit and angel face : S carclicd lias lie long o'er land and sea K ingdoms. for many a century — I nstead of one, lie's now found three !
