COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING QUALIFICATION.
TnK first competition in the second period for the choice of representatives for the district at the forthcoming Colonial Prize Firing, to be Held at Christchurch, took place at the Tararu Bulls, this morning, when, out of four volunteers firing, who had succeeded in passing through the first period, there was only one qualified for the position of district representative, namely Volunteer Partington, of the Thames Scottish, who made 42 points. Major Cooper was on the ground, and superintended the firing, while Captain Newby overlooked the scoring. The following is the result:
