OHINEMURI.

GREAT KORERO ABOUT THE WIRE. ( I'lto3l OLT. OWN COIUiKSI’ONDENT.) December 28. There has been a great talk hc-rc Ibis afternoon about the wire. Some mischief has been done which I cannot clearly trace ; there lias been an interference, but how it is not easy to say. Mr Mackay is still here, and is doing all he can. Mr Floyd, one of the Electric Telegraph Staff, is also here, and one of the Messrs Dixon, the contractors for the construction of the line by way of Wangamala. I am still of opinion that a little liberal expenditure pf money would secure ihe line through hero, and would help largely towards the opening of tiie country, Great expectation here as to the races on Monday. They say “kanui the pakelia.” Tiie rain has cleared off, and the day is beautiful.
