COROMANDEL.

(FROM on: OWN OU HR! IS TUN I>KN t) . MIXIXo operations ’nave been very brisk during the week ; some new claims have h i n pegged out on the Tokatea Range and Rauls Creek, anil-large quantities of stone have been brought to paddock. The Tokatea are taking rich store from the stopes in the upper level, and the leader which they are following towards the Royal Uak is looking well ; some good specimens having been taken out, and gold seen freely in the general stone. The Royal Oak are engaged in sinking a winze on their specimen leader to meet the drive from the tramway level, and wifi not commence stoping out until the communication is complete. Gold has been met with in the .winze, but only in small quantities. The Pride of the Tokatea arc still engaged stoping out from both levels with fair prospects, and will send 15 tons to the Nil Desperandiim this week. The Bismark and French Republic arc driving on their leader with every prospect ot’ success. The tunnel has now penetrated the old Bismark ground, and gold has been seen throughout. 100 tons of stuif are in paddock besides a couple of hundred weight of specimens. Tiie Harbour Yicw are still employed driving at their new level. The tunnel is now about 100 feet in, and several small gold-bearing stringers have been cut in its course. 30 ions of good-looking stone from the upper workings are now ready for the machine, and expected to yield a fair return.

The Green Harp tunnel has opened on this beach, about twenty feet above the beach road level, and ami will commence stuping out at once ; they have now upwards of 200 tons in paddock, and will be able to give ample employment to the new battery when completed. The Venus are timbering a chamber in dose proximity to the Green Harp boundary, and intend sinking a shaft with the hope of cutting Hie leader of that company. In the Golden Pali some nice specimens were taken from the winze in the early part of last week, and the stone is making as they get down. The cross-drive is lining continued to meet the winze. The shares in the company have risen considerably within the last few days. The Bonshnw are driving on two welldefined leaders, from which they have got good prospects ; there is also a inullocky leader, three feet thick, running through their ground, from which gold lias been taken. In the Golden Point I was shown a capital prospect just washed from a dish of mullocky stuif taken from the winze they arc at present sinking ; some larger specimens were taken before my arrival, and I expect their next crushing will give a good return.
