THEATRE ROYAL.

On Saturday evening there was quite a crowded house at this place of amusement, when Miss Clara Stephenson, the celeste of Australia, made her first appearance here, and created a very favorable impression upon the audience in her impersonation of Cynthia the Gypsy Queen, in the “Flowers of the Forest.’, The character is a very difficult one to perforin, and the manner in which it was sustained throughout-by this young actress, was in thorough keeping, and true to the spirit of the author’s. The part of Ishrriacl was well acted by Mr 0. Burford, and he was well supported by the rest of the company. The part of Lemuel, which is also a difficult one, was remarkably well acted by Mrs Keogh, and Mrs Howard as Starlight Bess, was very good. The comic parts of Cheap John and the Kinecliin were productive of much laughter, especially in the scene where the one appears as a lawyer, and the other as liis clerk. 'The piece was well placed upon the stage, and must he regarded as a great success. The laughable farce of “ Brother Bill and me” concluded the evening’s entertainment. This evening, the “Sea of Ice” will be performed, Miss Stephenson takes the part of Ogarita, and we hope to sec as full a house as there was on Saturday.
