4. ]3y the English Telegrams received yesterday by the ‘ Nebraska.” it will be seen that the health ol the Queen is again causing considerable anxiety in England. This combined with the cattle plague, the potatoc disease, a deficient corn harvest, and serious strikes in the manufacturing districts, presents a rather lugubious picture. Very severe gales have occurred on the English coast, and several vessels and many lives are reported as having been lost. A decrease of the revenue of half a million for the financial year is reported. The Italian Government demands oaths of loyalty to the King from the professors of the colleges in Home. 20 Bishops have refused to comply with the order. Political complications are again reported in Spain; but King Amadeus has been well received in all parts of the country, and a new Ministry has been formed, which promises economy and reduction 'in the civil list. Great fires and loss of life arc reported from America. Thc*ncws is altogether of a sombre character, but it has its sunny side in the fact that both at home and abroad (except in Afghanistan and Morrocco) there is peace, if not plenty, and as yet the dreaded foe cholera has not planted its foot in England. The rumoured marriage of Prince Arthur to Princess Thyra is contradicted.
