Auckland, 8.30 p.m. The half-yearly meeting of the Bank of New Zealand was held to-day. The balance-sheet showed a net profit for the half-year of £45,215. It is intended to pay a dividend tomorrow, at the rate of ten per cent., and a bonus of five shillings per share. Farmer and Browning were elected directors. The Otago meeting to-day was a very stormy one. The false report some short time since of gold having been struck was spoken of. The directors explained the action taken by them. The report, on first being put, was lost, but was ultimately carried. The present directors were re-elected. It was resolved to hold a half-yearly meeting. Caledonian, £l2O (?) : Tookey, £29; Junction, £1 2s 6d; Bright Smiles, £3 2s 6d.
