AMUSEMENTS.

Theatre Royal. The reproduction ®£ the “ Cornish Lass” was unfortunately to no better house than last evening;.. • Ijss much to be regretted that two such clever performers as Miss Bowring and Mr Steele should have no better support, backed up, as they are, by such a talented company. Perhaps this is in a great measure owing to' the tact that two “ Lasses" will not do at the same time in one evening. However, there is no douht tbis piece wfH haye'itß admirers at some future time. It is to be reproduced this eveningr

Academy of Music. —The “ Lancashire Lass ” was reproduced last evening to a very fair house. The “party” was as good and perhaps, if possible, a little better than on his first appearance in this character. The piececertainly was aswell and carefully rendered as dip Monday evening,, no doubt owing to a more familiar knowledge of the respective parts. Miss Raymond as Fanny Danville was very successful in her impersonation of this lighthearted coquette. This is undoubtedly the best character in which we have seen Miss Raymond, and we must admit that we. were agreeably - surprised with her acting last evening. Of course Miss Colville was good, and so also Mrs. Hill. We have commented on the other characters, and therefore close this notice with our best wishes for the success of ‘jfcbis piece. Mr. Varley’s scenery deserves the highest praises, especially the first and second scenes in the prologue. The house of Old Kirby was a fine piece of scenic representation, and shows Mr. Varley’s experience in this particular branch of art.
