CHURCH OF ENGLAND VESTRY MEETING.
A meeting was held last evening in the Vestry Room of St. Geovgc.s Church. Present —Rev. V. Lush, in the chair, and Messrs Fitzgibbon and Iloniss, Churchwardens, and Messrs Lloyd. Puekey, Bowden, Payne, Walnutt, and LaAvlor, Vestrymen. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The accounts for tlie past quarter showed a balance in hand of LB4. It Avas resolved to postpone the question of the erection of a fence on the new Church site until next meeting:. It Avas decided to complete the new Church according to the original design of tne architect, Avith spire, &c. The Churchwardens Avere instructed to haA'C a plan prepared as soon as possible shoAving tho scat accommodation to be provided in the neAV Church, Avhich is calculated to hold about 800 persons. The cost of providing scats to be borne by allotting a certain number sof seats to those who will pay for tliem halfyearly in advance. Due notice to he given to intending seat-holders. The Rev. Chairman, at the request of the meeting, here vacated the chair, Avhich was taken by Mr Puekey, and the minister’s stipend was then brought under consideration. It Avas resolved that the stipend be L3OO a year, dating from the Ist Octobev instant. A vote oj. thanks Avas accorded to Mr Lush for his liberality in connection Avith the building of the new church. The trustees Avere instructed to negotiate for the sale of the present parsonage house, subject to Mr Lusk s convenience as to the time Avhen lie Avill quit it for his new house.
