The tramway from Tararu to Grahamstown by the beach road has received the sanction ' of’the Highway Board under certain conditions, the principal of which are as follows ' The roads are not to be in,any- way destroyed or ren?dered unsafe r6r unfitffor traffic by’carts, &c. The Board reserve to themselves the right to widen any road at any lime, or change the course of the tramway to suit the olho rfraffic on the road. No steam engine b to be ahowed to travel on the line al any time except by special permission oi; the ,Board, as they consider it dangerous On i3o narrow a road where there is a large amount of traffic always going on.
