Christmas Day, at Ashburton Ashburton heat Waimate. ' Boxing-Day, at Timaru—Waimate beat United; at Geraldine—Geraldine beat Timaru.

In their first innings Waimate made 55 ; Cobden with 34 being the only one to get into double figures. In their second innings they made 69. Of these Studholme contributed 22, Goldstone 17, and Cobden 10. in their first innings Geraldine made 96. Of these Sngden scored 19, Fish 13, Kitto 11, W. M. Moore 19, and Macdonald 16. In their second innings their score reached 121. H. W. Moore made 41, B. R. Macdonald 32, and Pearpoint 19. The following will represent Temuka against Waimate this morning in Victoria Park. Play begins at 9.30 as the visitors have to leave by the express ; —C. Brown, E. Brown, Buxton, Brosnahan, Dann, C. Fanthorpe, E. Fanthorpe, Ferguson, Hawkes, Heap, and Holwell. Emergencies —D. McCaskill and Harrison. The match between Victoria and New South Wales commenced at Melbourne on Boxing-Pay, and when stumps were drawn for the day the New South Welshmen had put together 266 for the loss of two wickets.

The match between New South Wales and Wellington commenced at Wellington on Boxing-Day. New South Wales batted first, and made 179. When play ceased for the day Wellington had made 124 for the loss of 6 wiekets.
