GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Geraldine School Committee was held on Thursday evening last. Present—Messrs W. H. Walton (chairman), T. Sherratt, D. McLeod, P. D. Herdman, R. A. Borrows, J. Boughton, and J. Riordan. HEAD MASTER’S REPORT. The head master reported the attendance for the quarter: boys, 92.5; girls, 104.6. Total 197.1. Roll number 251. Highest attendance 231. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. It was resolved that the school break up on December 14th for six weeks reopening on January 27th. PRIZE GIVING. Resolved that Mr W. S. Maslin M.H.R. be asked to distribute the prizes on December 20th, and that' as many of the committee as can possibly get be present on that occasion. It was decided that MesdameS Finch, Smith, and J. W. Pye, be asked to judge the sewing. SECOND MASTER. The chairman said be had received no communication from the board re the appointment of a second master. He belieVed that the board had received two applications, which were considered unsuitable ones. PUPIL TEACHER. It was resolved that applications be invited from children in the school for the position of pupil teacher. The committee then rose.
