Constantinople, Nov. 19. The Porte apologises for alleging that the British Consul at Van incited the Armenians to revolt, and promises to make full inquiries into the outrages. Erzbroum, Nov. 18. The Turkish soldiers imprisoned sixty girls in a church, where after being outraged they were butchered. The blood of the unfortunate victims poured out in a stream under the doors of the building. The bodies of the victims in other places were beheaded. Some of them were burned alive in their own houses. Nov. 19. The corpses of the slaughtered Armenians lie unburied, and cholera is following in the wake of the massacre. Those who managed to escape crossed into Russian territory by secret paths.
