Melbourne, Nov. 16. There was beautiful weather ts-day for the match England v. Victoria. Stoddart won the toss and took the first innings, the score at the close of the day being 379 for c four wickets. Nov. 17. The first inniugs of the English' team closed for 416 runs. McLaren made 228, Peel 48, and Stoddart 77. McLaren played a brilliant inniugs, but was badly missed after scoring four. Victoria in their first innings have lost seven wickets for 201.
