AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Arowhenua Town Board was held last Thursday evening in the town board office. Present—Messrs J. Ashwell E, Carr, and A. Russell. CJKRESPONDBVCK. After some discussion the overseer was instructed to inspect the places and report at next meeting. THE BOARD AND THI FIRE BRIGADE. The correspondence which took place between the Temuka Fire Brigade and the Arowhenua Town Board some six years ago was next read. Amongst other things the fire brigade made application for wells, but on account of the financial position of the board not warranting it at the time, further steps were deferred. With reference to the pledges of the board to the brigade, the board is liable for all expenses incurred by the brigade at any fire that nray occur. This being all the business the meeting terminated.
