GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Geraldiue School Committee was held on Thursday evening. Present —Messrs W. H. Walton (chairman), T. Sherratt, P. D. Herdman, D. McLeod, J. Boughton, J. Riordan, and R. Borrows. HEAD MASTER'S REPORT. The head master reported the average attendance for the present quarter:—l9s ; the roll number being 263. The attendance during the last fortnight had been very low, principally on account of the prevalence of mimps. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was received from the board stating that meanwhile Miss Riordan can continue her duties as usual. THB JANITOR. As the janitor's term had expired it was decided to call fresh tenders for cleaning the school for the ensuing year; tenders to be opened at a special meeting on Thursday, October 25. CONCERT. It was agreed to hold the annual Christmas concert as usual in aid of the prize fund, and Messrs Sherratt and Herdman were appointed a sub-committe to arrange about same. THE VISITORS. The visitors reported visiting the school and finding everything in good order excepting the fences, which required trimming. Messrs McLeod and Riordan were appointed visitors for next month. PEN CBS. Resolved—" That tenders be called for trimming the school fences." The meeting then terminated.
