Favored by fine weather the financial results ; are good, the the; theatre being again packed bn Saturday evening. There: is a strong feeling of displeasure among the citizens'at the action of the Garrison Band in using -outside instrumental aid. It is considered that the band had a very good chance to secure first honors without such help ; that their action is a reflection on- the gommqnity, who looked upon the visiting bandsmen as their guests; and that the' bringing of a musician from Tasmania has marred the pleasure of the whole proceedings by giving room to protests. At a meeting, not open to the press, several of these resolutions were offered, but the chairman ruled that there were not a sufficient number of bands represented who had complied with the financial regulations to constitute a meeting, and be left the chair. The meeting then elected a chairman but soOn adjourned till Monday. Matters appear to be in a great muddle, the rules of the association being directly self-contradictory.
