TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the above was held on Tuesday. Present—Messrs J. Fraser (in the chair), F. Parke, W. Snell, aud P. Ooira. Mr Talbot apologised for absence. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read as follows : From the S.C. Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, covering statement of accounts for year ending 31st March, 1894.—Received. From Mr J. Hay, solicitor, Timaru, relative to substitution of the name of John Davey for that of James Beattie in respect of R.S. 7099, Rangitira.—The clerk to attend. From the Geraldine County Council, covering statement of accounts for year ending March 31st.—Received. overseer's report.
The overseer's report was read as follows: — " To the Chairman. u Sib,—l have the honor to report for the past month as follows: Fresh tenders have been invited for contract No. 12, formation neai Rangitata Railway Station I have also invited tenders for the formation of the road runnning from Newlands corner to what is known as German's corner. This work has been divided into two sections of 114 chains each. The contracts let at last meeting are being proceeded with. Shingle repairs have been done to Hawke's road, Stewart's road, Barker's road, and Orari and Milford roads. A start has been made with the bridges on the Milford road, one concrete culvert has been built, and in a few days I shall commence to take up the bridge it is to replace. Poisoned, wheat has been laid on the roads during the month with good effect.—l have, etc. « F. Archeb." TENDERS. The following tenders were opened and considered:—Contract No. 12, forming road at Rangitata—M. Lawlor 10s 6d formation, Is 6d per cubic yard shingle; P. Friel 9s 6d formation, lid Bhingle; J. Cain 9s 6d formation, is shingle; J, Fifield 8s formation, Is shingle (accepted) . Contract No. 14, forming road at Newlands—M. Gregan, £114; T. Sugrue, £100; J. Davis, £76 10s (accepted) ; M Lawlor, £7O (informal). Contract No. 15, forming road near Newlands—J. Davis, £BO 15s; J. Cain, £6l 2s; P. Friel, £54 3s; T. Sugrue, £SO; M. Gregan, £49 (accepted). ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £370 5s lOd were passed for payment, iuoluding a half-yearly payment to £270 2s 7d to the Timaru Harbqur Board, The meeting then terminated.
