MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the board was held on Monday last, having been postponed from the 17th, there being no quorum on that day. Present—Messrs C. G. Tripp, R. Thew, and G. J. Dennistoun. Mr Tripp was voted to the chair.
The following correspondence was opened : From the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch, re reading Arundel.—Clerk to reply that all information asked for, and also the agreement signed by the board, with a letter from the clerk asking for full instructions as to how the money was to be let, etc., had been duly sent to the Surveyor-General, WelUugtop, on the ICth June last, but up to the present no reply had been received.
From Mr W. Shiers, thanking the board for fixing the Opuha ford on their side of the river.
Several ratepayers wrote asking the board to take their names off the rate book and to substitute others.—Clerk to attend to this.
From manager Mount peel, asking permission to erect gate on the road leading tp the church.—rGrauted, on the usual conditions. From the agent Accident Insurance Company.—Taken as read. From the Land Tax Department, informing the board that £123, subsidy on rates, had been paid to the board’s credit Accounts to the amount of f* so were passed for paying- 1 w 0 4 S 34
