TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.
Tho regular monthly mooting was hold on Tuesday. Present—Messrs J. Fraser (in the chair), P. Coira, W. Snell, and F. Parke. COUUKSrONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows ; From Mr T. Bourko, drawing attention to the condition of the road fronting tho police promises,—Overseer to attend. From Mr F. Brown, asking for formation of part of a road through Pakihi estate. —Overseer to attend. From Mr A. Baillio, applying to have hia name removed from the roll in respect
of Pt. section 4930, lots 32, 37.—Clerk to attend. From Mr P. Dale, Timaru, notifying a collection required upon the roll in respect of a section at Winchester.— Clerk to attend. From Mr John Pearce, Orari, requesting that the ditch iu Austin’s road be cleaned, and offering to do the work at Is per chain.—The overseer to arrange. From the Land and Income Tax Department, notifying payment of the sum of £l9l 5s 7d, subsidy under Local Bodies Powers and Finance Act. From Mr J. Murray, Orari Station, offering to partly fence two gravel reserves free of charge if given the grazing jight to them for four years.—Permission granted as per request. From Mr J. E. Ackroyd, asking for a few loads of earth to fill up hollows caused by the lifting of drains. The so'l could be obtained from the side of the road.—No objection was offered. From Mr Geo. Winter, applying for road formation at Rangitata.— Overseer to report. From Mr W. Hopkinson, asking if there was any objection to his being granted a license to slaughter on reserve 283, Temuka riverbed.—The board had no objection. overseer’s report. The overseer’s report was read as follows; “ To the Chairman. “ Sib, —I have the honor to report for the past month as follows: Tenders have been invited for contract No. 10, carting shingle for repairs... The work, done during the month consists of shingle repairs to Waitohi main road and ordinary surface work. Be Mr G, McMillan’s application; There are about 20 chains of the road referred to by Mr McMillan that requires a coat of shingle. About 300 cubic yards would be required, and the cost would be about £—. From the Stumps corner to the Ohapi creek on the Oran and Milford road, a coat of shingle is badly required. The distance is about 80 chains, and the cost would be about £—.” ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £75 6s were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
