WOODBURY DOMAIN BOARD.
The above board met on Saturday evening last. Present—Messrs Flatmau (chairman), McDonald, Morrison, Wooding and Thatcher. After confirming the minutes of one ordinary and one special meeting, the chairman stated ho had called the members together this time to transact such business as had come forward since their last meeting, and also that they might make all necessary provisions for carrying on the work of the board during his absence in Wellington. The chairman reported that by agreement with Mr Groundwater,Mr Hammond would take up the lease of the paddock recently tendered for, on the same terms as it was let to Mr Groundwater, provided the board would sanction the transfer. - Transfer granted.
A letter was received from Messrs Taylor & Flatmau, asking the board to allow them to transfer their lease to F. R. Flatman, junr.—Request granted. The secretary Woodbury Football Club wrote, asking permission for the club to lay off a portion of the park for play, and to erect goal posts.—Granted.
It was decided to call for tenders for gorse cutting, iu preference to day labour, members being pf opinion that at this season all work of this kind should be publicly advertised, that all workers might be treated impartially. Messrs Thatcher and Wooding kindly undertook to accept tenders, and to supervise and pass the work. At this stage Mr Hammond entered the room and signed his lease, at the same time paying the first half-year's rent. Mr Flatman formally asked for leave of absence for the next three or four months to attend to his Parliamentary duties during the approaching session. This was granted on the motion of Mr Macdonald, seconded by Mr Thatcher.
