DEATH OF LE CARON, THE SPY.
Major Henri LeCaron. British Governraeut spy, died in London, on April 2nd, from an internal tumour. He had been living at Kensington, under the name of Dr. Howard, guarded night and day by detectives. It is understood that one of the interests instrumental in the Parnell prosecution was paying to LeCaron an annuity of £SOOO, and his life was insured for a large sum, under an agreement by which he gave evidence before the Parnell Commission. His real name was Beach. He lived in the United Spates for a number of years, and had had unobstructed opportunities to know the secret business of the Clan-Na-Gael. He claimed to have had interview with Parnell in London when the great Parliamentary leader in ISSI impressed on him the necessity of a good understanding between Irishmen who advocated the vise of physical force against England and those who worked to promote national objects by assisting the party led by Parnell. Le Carori was a graduate in the cl;ts3 o? lrt?3 of the Detroit Medical College, and kept drug stores in various places. He at one time trained for a drug liou-k;, and practised modioiuo in the State of Illinois, and other parts played in his remarkable career were those of an activo member of thr Grand Army of the Republic, n. Fenian of Canada in 18<>5, an ''organiser" of Nationalists, &e. During 11. j inquest on the body of Dr Cronin, J. D. ilagerty, a ruihva.v'clcrk, who gave ovidonco rogardinjr Sullivan's bitter declaration against the deceased, when he was tried and expelled from the Clan-na-Gael. and Le Caron was a member 01 the Committee that tried the doctor, and tiiat Le Caron was introduced to witnesi by Alexander Sullivan, a man of respectable character, and worthy of all confidence,
