AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. The Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited (per Mr J. Mundell, auctioneer), report on the horse market at Tattersall’s on Saturday as follows : - | |Our entry comprised 49 head all told, and although we specially advertised, that a buyer for spring dray horses would be in attendance, he could only pick two horses out- of the number yarded suitable for his requirements, thus proving beyond doubt that South Canterbury is short of this stamp of horse. Thirty head was wanted, and he has given instructions to an agent in Timaru to purchase for him should a suitable sort turn up; Our quotations for the day’s sale are :—Draught, young and sound, with trial, £l4 10s to £l7; tram or spring dray sorts, £l2 to £ls; weedy sorts unsaleable.

Messrs Guinness and LeCreu report on the horse market on Saturday as follows : At the Timaru horse bazaar there was a: large enlry of draught aad light horses,' the principle feature of the-day being Mr James McCooTs lot of excellent draughts, all of which, with two exceptions, found; buyers at satisfactory prices. Waggons, harness, and implements belonging to the same owner were also disposed of. There was a more than average attendance of buyers and others present during the day, and bidding for the various lots was fairly good. Best draughts realised from £l4 to £22; medium, £9 to £l2 ; hacks and light harness horses, from £7 to £l2 They also sold calving cows at up to £9 ss.
