The ranger reported as follows : All races are in good order, with the exception of a few which are rather overgrown with grass, which lam at present clearing. I wish you to take notice that 1 have some difficulty in getting a good flow of water at the head works, owing, I think, to silt being lodged in the filter box. —J. Reilly.” —lt was proposed that as the engineer is likely to be out shortly on a visit of inspection, the matter be left for him to report on. With respect to the ratepayers’ iist furnished by the council, it was proposed by Mr Barker, seconded by Mr McDonald, and carried—“ That the list be returned, as there are several decrepancies which the committee think the clerk is better able to correct than they are, as the owners’ and occupiers’ names are not marked upon their map. What they would like would be that the numbers of sections be marked on the list, the acreage, the occupier, and the rateable value, which they could then enter in the minute book.” It was decided in future to hold the monthly meetings on the first Saturday in each moq£h at 4 p.m. The meeting then terminated.
