The annual competition will take place on FRIDAY and SATURDAY, 16th and 17th March, full particulars of which will be forwarded by the Secretary to all members of the Society. In addition to the usual prizes the President of the Society will give two SPECIAL PRIZES for LADIES (who have taken out licenses from the Geraldine County Acclimatisation Society) catching the largest number of fish between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, 17th March. AT a meeting of the Council of the County of Geraldine held in the Council’s Office, Timaru, on THURSDAY, 11th January, 1894, at 11 o’clock a.m., the following resolution was passed : —That this Council in pursuance of the powers vested in it by “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886,” do now make and levy a special annual recurring rate of TWOTHIEPS Of A PENNY IN THE POUND (§d in £) for each year, commencing from the First Day of July and ending on the Thirtieth Day of June, on the rateable value of all property within the limits of that portion of the County of Geraldine, called or known as “ THE FOUR PEAKS WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT,” to provide interest and other charges upon an authorised Loan of £4OO (FOUR HUNDRED PUUNDS), raised by the Council under the provision of “ The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act 1886, and Amendment, 1887,” for the purpose of constructing Special Public Works, consisting of Water Races, within such portion or district exclusively. Such rate to come into force on the First Day of July 1894, and to be payable annually in one sum on the Fifteenth Day of July in each year for a period of Twenty-Six Years, until the said loan be paid olf. The first payment to be payable on 15 th Day of July, 1894. The above Special Order was adopted at j special meeting of the Council held on THURSDAY, March 8,1894, and will be confirmed at the meeting of the Council to be held on 12th day of APRIL, 1894, at 11 o’clock.
