SHOOTING.

Oh Thursday afternoon the Temuka Rifles fired a match for Major Moore's challenge shield. This trophy ia open for competition to all South Canterbury corps, ten men each company, seven Bhots at 400, 500, and 600 yards, Government targets and scoring. The Temuka men averaged 39.1 points. The day was dull, with a tricky head wind, otherwise it was a good day for Bhooting. Color-Sergt. McDonald and Corpi. Baker of the Ashburton Rifles were the scrutinaers on behalf of the other competing teams. The individual- scores were as follows : 400 500 600 yds. yds.' yds. Total. Sergt.
