GERALDINE ST. PATRICK’S SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting o£ the above society was held on Monday evening at Keane’s Commercial Hotel. Mr B. R. Macdonald (president) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. BALANCE SHEET. The Treasurer, Mr J. P. Kalaugher, read the balance sheet, which showed a credit in bank of £lO 16s 8d and 9a petty cash in hand. The president said he regretted that the society had, as in the previous year, suffered a loss. No one would deny that this was solely owing to the unfavorable weather on the day of the sports. Last year the committee decided to go on with the sports, and not adjourn them ti’’. better weather (as they did the previous year). The result was that the loss was not so great as previously. The year waa commenced with a credit balance of £25 17s 2d, and this year they had a balance of £ll odd. During the year the committee had inaugurated socials under the auspices of the association. The first social was very successful and the society netted £6 19s, but with the second social there was a slight loss. A ’together £5 was made from the socials. He would like to see country members take more interest in the socials, and hoped that the incoming committee would continue the holding of socials. NEW MEMBERS. Several new members were elected.
