AFFAIRS AT THE CAPE.

Capetown, Dec. 14,

It is feared that Captain Wilson’s detachment, which fell into an ambuscade of King Lobengula’s followers, has been annihilated.

Dec. 15.

Captain Wilson’s detachment consisted of forty men. They found King Lobegula’s waggon stuck in the mire. When they challenged the King to surrender, the Matabeles endeavoured to surround the detachment, which retreated, fighting as they went. Messengers were despatched to the main body of Major Forbes’ troops for assistance. Some Matabeles also attacked Major Forbes’men, but were repulsed.
