BUSH FIRES.
Sydney, Dec. 14,
The intense heat which has been experienced throughout the colouy for some days past has been followed by very large grass and buah fires in the interior. The nyingan station, in the Narrandera district (about 350 miles south-west from Sydney) has been swept by bush fires and 90,000 acres devastaeed. At the end of last week the fire had extended over an area of 40 miles, and unless rain falls the flames will sweep the country north to the Lachlan river. The Murrell Creek station lost all its grass and buildings with the exception of the homestead, and one selector lost 1500 sheep. At Cooree station in the Jerildirie district (about 60 miles south from Narrandera) over 70,000 acres have been laid waste by fire.
