GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening last. Present —Messrs A. White, (chairman), W. S. Maslin, J. Williams, R. Y. Fergusson, J. M. Sutherland and R. Hammond. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence outwards was read, and inwards was received and dealt with as follows : From Mr W. G. Sherratt, asking that, having removed a house, purchased by him, belonging to the late Mr G. Fox, to section next Mr J. Boughton’s, he be allowed to place it on a foundation higher than where removed from.—Application granted. From Mr J. Boughton, requesting to be allowed to to erect verandah in front of his house, subject to by-law. —Granted. From Geraldine Road Board, requesting that, as occupiers of part section 7456, Raukapuka, the board grub up and remove all obstructions to traffic. —Works Committee to inspect same. From Mr R. H. Pearpoint, drawing attention to state of gorse fences on the < ast and west of the large park, leased by him, and showing the unfairness of allowing holders of sections abutting on the park to neglect their fences. —Resolved : “ That the owners of the sections be asked to trim their fences and keep the gorse down.

From Mr E. O’Brien, re state of road leading from Bowkett’s to his place, and asking for a plank to be placed across the gully.-—The Works Committee to do any work necessary.

From Mr B. OBrien, offering to lease section 316, next his laud, at 5s per annum. Resolved, that the offer be not accepted. From Mr T. Reseigh, asking that a culvert be put across the water-table to allow of access to his sample rooms for vehicles.—Resolved, that applicant can put down same at his own expense, under supervision of the overseer. From Mrs Boughton, asking that her name be inserted on the roll for town sections 293, 294 and 295, the value of which is £22.—Granted. INTERVIEW. Mr G. Ward interviewed the board asking that it would form Cox street from Cemetery road to High street. —Resolved, that the road be cleared of matagourie and gorse, and any crab holes to be filled in. overseer’s report. The overseer’s report for the past mouth was read, dealing with work done. He drew attention to gorse growing in front of boarding house section.—Mr 0. E. Sherratt, as agent for the owner of said section, stated he would undertake to have the gorse cleared. ACCOUNTS. Accounts were passed for payment. RATE. Resolved —“ That a rate be struck of f of Id in the £, payable on 15th November.” LEAVE 03? ABSENCE. Mr R. Hammond asked for two months’ leave of absence, which was granted. The meeting then adjourned. GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD. A meeting of the Domain Board was afterwards held. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was read from Mr Kalangher' asking that Mr J. Farrell’s name be inserted instead of his own for certain sections, Mr Farrell paying arrears of rent. —Granted, as Mr Farrell had given his assent. TENDERS. Tenders for repairing pavilion in the park were received as follows : —Thomas Baxter, £5 10s; G. J, Kraus, £5, (accepted.) ACCOUNTS. Sundry accounts were passed for payment. The meeting then closed.
