BELFIELD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting was held in the Belfleld schoolroom on October 21st. Present—Messrs Ford (chairman), Brenton, Ellery, Annals, Coffey, Greenaway, and Willey. Correspondence was read from the Returning Officer asking for the use of the school as a polling booth at the forthcoming general election,—lt was decided that the school should be let for the purpose. *The teacher’s report for the month was read, and with regards to attendance was considered very satisfactory. Mo. on roll: Boys, 35; girls, 28 ; total, 63. Average : Boys, 27.1; girls, 25.2 ; total, 52.3. Highest attendance : Boys, 30; girls, 26 ; total, 56. The teacher asked for a holiday on October 25th, and the same was granted. He also called the committee’s attention to the iron round the urinal being down, arid asked to have the same repaired,--The committee decided to, have the •*' wor ] £ done at once. Mr Coffey was elelected visitor for the month, and the meeting terminated.
