London, Sept. 29. The Yorkshire miners by a majority of 30,000 have revolved in favor of resum ing work at the former rate of wages. Oct. 1. The Morning Post says that dissension among British miners is encouraging Australia to compete in tho coal markets. The London Trades Council are appealing for funds to assist the miners out on strike. It is stated that many thousands of women and children are starving, their only food being raw potatoes. t downers have issued a manifesto offering to submit the dispute to arbitration. They state that they only desire that wages shall follow prices. The labor leaders intend to appeal to Australia for help for the distressed miners and their families. The Miners' Federation have refused to interview the masters, but decided to allow members of the federation to resume work at the old rate of wages, the men doing so to pay Is per day to the strike fund. It is expected that 50,000 men will at once return to work. Melbourne, Sept. 29. The marine engineers have notified that they go out on strike if the owners reduce wages before the result of the ballot that they are taking on the question is completed. Wellington, Sept. 30. The Eight Hours Demonstration Committee have resolved to write to all the clergymen in Wellington, asking them to dedicate a sermon a year to the hours of labor, and suggesting Sunday week for the first.
