THE COMING ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Will you kindly allow me a space in your valuable paper co say a few words on the coming election I hear that the Good Templars are trying to get a candidate of their own. Now I think, and others think, that they are presuming very much in thiuking that the electors will go and give their votes to anyone who they please to bring forward. Such a handful of the voters, not one in ten, and in all probability not caring for anything but prohibition. People will not be gulled in that way; the electors want something more than that. They may bring out their man, but they cannot make people vote for him; they may rest assured that they had better leave well alone if they wish to gain their point, or in all probability thpy may find themselves no further forward than they are now. If they think of splitting votes their wisdom is very small.—Yours, etc., G. Edoeler, B.G.C.A. September 23rd, 1893.
