TEMUKA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

The annual meeting of the Temuka Caledonian Society was held last evening in the Temuka Hotel, The president, Mr A. M. Clark, occupied the chair. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. The president said he was going to ask them, under rule 19, to adjourn the meeting. They had lost two of their members, Messrs Cox and Bisset, and that was the cause of their not holding the bull. The feeling of the directors was that they should like to see the year through before leaving office—they should like to carry out the ball. They had a balance of £ll6 14s 7d in the bank free of all liabilties. He would ask some one to propose a vote of condolence with the the late Mr A. Cox and Mr Bisset. * They could not hold the annual meeting on account of the illness of the secretary. Mr Henry moved a vote of condolence with the friends of Messrs Cox and Bisset. —Carried unanimously. On the motion of Mr Henry, the meeting was adjourned to the 28th of Sept, next.

Mr Boyd Thompson was elected a member of the Society, Mr A. M, Clark thanked them for the large number present, considering the inclemency of the weather. He regretted that owing to ill-health he had not been able to attend to his duties as well as he would have wished during the winter, but as he felt better now he hoped to make amends for it in the future. (Great applause.) The meeting then terminated,
