WOODBURY WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT.
A meeting of the above committee was held in the Woodbury schoolroom on Saturday, August sth. " Present —Messrs D. McDonald (chairman), F. R. Flatman, W. F. Brown, T. Groundwater and A. 0 or mack.
A letter was read from the chairman of the school committee granting use of school for purpose of holding meetings, on payment at rate of £1 per annum. Agreed to. It was resolved to hold meetings on the first Saturday in each month at half-past seven.
Tenders having been called for the post of ranger, four were received and considered as follows : —Thomas Eaton, £'6o, (informal) ; J. Riley, £1 13s 4d per month; T. Park, £5 15s ; and Joseph Earris, £3 10s. After due consideration Mr H. F. Brown proposed, and Mr A. Cormack seconded—" That Mr Riley's tender be accepted."—Carried unanimously. It was also resolved—" That tho ranger take over all water races as soon as he receives notice from the ratepayers that they have been cleaned as specified." The meeting then terminated.
