Influx of Austrian's. —The Auckland Star’s Dargaville correspondent states that another 45 Austrians are expected at the gumfields this week direct from Australia, and 80 more are en route. It is said that more will follow. Obangeism.— At the half-yearly meeting of the Grand Orange Lodge of the North Island of New Zealand, held at Wellington on Friday night, a resolution was passed conveying to the Queen regret at the calamity to the Victoria. The following resolutions were also carried: — “ That we Ue§’ most heartily to convey to the Queen our sympathy and regret that she should be so much annoyed and her peace of mind dis< urbed by the illad vised action of Her Majesty’s present Ministers, who seek to destroy the peace of the Empire, As Orangemen, over loyal and true to Her Majesty’s throne and person, we pray the Giver of all Goodness to confound their wicked devices and preserve Her Majesty’s realm from destruction. We trust that Her Majesty may long reign over the United Kingdom and people.” “ That the resolution be forwarder to tho Grand Master of England for presentation to the Queen.” It was slso resolved that the following resolutions be forwarded to the present Premier of New Zealand and Mr Rolleston: —“That the Grand Orange Lodge regrets that the Ooverumeut have so far forgotten their duty to tho country as to hand over to a denominational body, the Magdala Collet 1 e, £SOO of public funds for denominational purposes “That we, as Orangemen, are satisfied with tbe present system of State education, and are strongly opposed to any alteration in the present Act, and the voting away of public money for purposes.”
