FASHIONABLE WEDDING.
There was quite a stir in the serenity of Woodbury on Thursday last, when a fashionable wedding took place in St. Thomas' Anglican Church, the contracting parties being Miss Edith Howard Tripp, youngest daughter of 0. G. Tripp, Esq., Oran Gorge, and Mr George Pinckney, of Geraldine, eldest son of WilJiain Piuckuey, Esq., banker, of Milford Hill, Salisbury, England. The entrance to the church was prettily festooned with green leaves, ferns, and flowers, as was also the interior of the church, and one long strip of grey felt was stretched from the church door to the gateway for the convenience of the bridal party as they walked from the carriages. Splendid weather favored the wedding, and precisely at the hour appointed (one o'clock) the bridal party made their appearance in three of Mr C. G. Tripp's carriages, which were followed by about 40 of the station hands in the saddle, and the Right Rev. Bishop Harper was driven from Mr Hope's residence. As the party entered the church Mrs Turton played on the church organ " Holy Matrimony," and in a few moments the place was thronged to the doors with people from all parts of the district. The bride and bridegroom looked pleasingly happy and brighb, the former being handsomely dressed in white surah silk, trimmed with superb silk lace and wearing a tulle veil, The dress was made by Mis 3 Byrne, dressmaker at Messrs $. Dunlop & Co.'s, and the lace was worked by Mrs Putman of Woodbury. The bridesmaids, Misses Ella and Emmie Tripp, Lucy and Bessie Acland, and Edith Hope were richly dressed in cream delaine, with yellow aud blue sashes, and large hats trimmed to match. The two Masters Hope acted as pages, and wore blue velveteen suites with lace collars and cuffs. The bride was given away by her father, and her brother, Mr Bernard Tripp, was best man. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Right Rev. Bishop Harper, grandfather of the bride, assisted by the Rev. James Preston, Incumbent, Geraldine. As the 'ceremony concluded Mrs Turton played Mendelshon's" Wedding March/' and the party left the church amid cheers and a few showers of rice, and drove to Mr C. G. Tripp's home at Orari Gorge. On arrival at the gate the horses were taken from the bridal carriage, and the happy pair were drawn by their friends to the house, where, owing to trouble and a death in the family the usual wedding festival was dispensed with, and everything went ofi very quietly. A large iced wedding cake of iive tiers, made by Mr Armishaw, the station cook, was cut and handed round with wine amongst the visitors. The Rev. Mr Preston proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, and the latter returned thanks and proposed the health of the best man, and Mr Bernard Tripp responded, Mr Ernest Everrett proposed the health of Mr and Mrs C. G. Tripp, and Mr Tripp suitably responded. Among the visitors present were: — The Hon. J. B. Acland and family, Captain and Mrs Temple aud family, Mr and Mrs Dennistoun and family, Mr and Mrs W. E.
