EXTENSIVE FRAUDS.

Sidney, May 4:,

Two men named Reid and Leonai'd were arrested to-day on a charge of being concerned in extensive frauds on the Post Oiiioe Savings Bank. It is understood tint a sum of £2500 is involved in the frauds. Besley, a clerk in the institution, has absconded. Melbourne, May 3.

In the Magistrate's Court to-day the chages of conspiracy against James Bell, M.L.C., and B. Muntz and W. Anderson, directors, and C. Ellis and C. J. Richardson, auditors, of the Mercantile Bank were dismissed. The decision in the case against Sir Matthew Davies, a director, and Fred Milledge, the manager, will bo given on Manday. There was a lack of uuauimity among the bench of magistrates in all the cases.
