CORIIESPONDENCE,
Correspondence was read from ' The Central Flood Relief Committee, Queensland, statiig that so mj ny parcels of goods had been received without advice that it was impossible to know who had actuary forwarded them. The secretary asked for a list of donors, so that they might bo duly acknowledged,— The clerk had attended to the same. From the Secretary Atkinson Memorial Committee, asking for return of subset iption lists. From Mr Job Brown, asking that the Bank of New South Wales might be placed on the roll for part of soctioh 10 —-Assented to by the manager and agreed
From Mr Lough, as secretary for Tims—u branch of the Queensland Relief Fund, asking for information as to the amount received locally towards the fund, so that publicity might be given to the same.—Replied to by the clerk. From Mr B. Brown, asking that the name of Mr F. Collier be substituted for that of applicant, in respect of sgotitm in Street. From Messrs Clinch, Blyth, Bar.-, ]pa|;p"s ? and Mrs Catherine Lee, relative |o alterations upon tho roll.—All being hi carder the clerk wn instructed to attend \q samp. From Messrs Cjpmer $> Larcombe, asking for caifcain improvements to Cass Street, in the shape of drainage.

members have an opportuntiny of "i spect"ig the place. THE LATE PREMIER. The chairman drew attention to the death of the late Mr Balance, a statesman whoce loss to the country could not but be deplored. On the motion of Mr Storey it wr ■ resolved that a telegram expressive of condolence with Mrs Balance be forwprded at once. overseer's report.
The overseer's report was to the following effect: —All instructions had been carried out. The rainfall had revealed weak place-., and it was sugge ited that the worst places should be repaired before bad weather sets in. Drift and grass on sides of roads had been removed by the surfaceman. The drain crossing Dyson street was working badly, and the overseer suggested that the pipe's be taken up and cleaned. He also drew attentiou to drains at Cass street, as mentioned by Mes-rs Comer & Larcombe. As health officer he had little to repoi c. By request of Mr A. M. Clark he drew attention to a serious annoyance caused by stagnant dip at the sheep yards. Bis informant asked the board to take action in the matter if witlri its province. In connection with tbis the clerk wai insw acted to write to the overseer of the Road Board on the subject.
UNPAID RATES,
The clerk submitted a list of defaulting ratepayers, and it was resolved-—" That a'.l ratepayers in arrears be sued within seven days."
ACCOUNTS,
Accounts to the amount of £63 14s 3d were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
