London, April 17. Earl Dalkeith, in a speech on Home Rule, said that it ought to be averted, even at the cost of civil strife. The Methodist Church of Ireland has addressed a manifesto to the Methodists of England against Home Rule. Moonlighters in West Lirasriak shot a farmer named Quirk and his son. The condition of the victims is precarious. The t>uke of Devonshire, in a speech on Home Rule, said that it was hypercritical to argue that England is ignorant of Irish needs and incapable of supplying them, April 18. The Lord M*yor of Dublin presented at the bar of the House of Commons a petition from the corporation, in favour of Home Ilule. The Irish TTnionista presented huge br,i;dlo.s of petitions against the Bill, including one signed by ten members of the Dublin Council.
