SHOCKING TRAGEDY.
Sydney, March 27. A woman named Emma Harrison, residing at Woolloomooloo, was outraged and murdered in bed. Her finance, a man named Jeater, is detained in custody on suspicion, though the circumstances barely warrant the supposition that he is the criminal. Latek. The Woolloomooloo tragedy is creating a sensation owing to its mysterious nature. The victim, who bore a very respectable character, was employed as a dressmaker in a leading firm. She was alone in the house at the time the crime was committed. Although a desperate struggle took place, rendering it hardly possible that the assailant should not bear marks of it, the prisoner Jeater shows no traces of being engaged in one. March 28. Archer, son-in-law of the occupants of the house in which Miss Harrison, the victim of the Woolloomooloo outrage resided, has been arrested on the capital charge, there being strong presumptive evidence against him, Jeater has been released.
