AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.

The regular monthly meeting of the above board was held last evening. Present —Messrs J. Ash well (chairman), E. Brown, E. Carr and A. Frew. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read as follows : From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, relative to the proposed expenditure of thirds, amounting to £5 2s lOd, accruing in respect of deferred payment sections to October 31st, 1892. From the same, acknowledging receipt of letter of January 6th, and stating that it was unlikely the head office would reconsider its decision in respect of rendering the board assistance in cleaning the Taumatakahu creek.—The SurveyorGeneral had been requested to expedite the reservation of proposed garden area. BENTS AND BATES. The clerk was instructed to notify by advertisement that rates and rents unpaid within fourteen days will be sued for. THE CREEK. Some discussion took place as to the condition of the creek, Mr Brown urging that something ought to be done at once, as damage was now being done by overflowing water. He moved—“ That tenders be invited for clearing the creek, and opened at a special meeting to be held on Wednesday, February 22nd.” The motion was seconded by Mr Carr, and carried. DOO REGISTRATION. Mr Frew moved Gaze be registrar of dogs for the Arowhenuo town district, the fees to be as heretofore.” f Ul ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £6 14s 4d were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
