GERALDINE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual distribution of prizes at the Geraldine Presbyterian Church Sunday School took place on Sunday afternoon in the presence of a good number of the children’s parents and friends. The Rev. A. B. Todd and Mr Colin McKenzie (superintendent) addressed a few words of advice to the children, and Mrs Todd gave out the prizes. The prize-list is as under : Girls—Junior Class, No. 1: Dolly Haney, 44 marks, 1; Sarah Scott and Jessie Scott,43 (equal), 2; Lily McCaskey, 41, 3. Junior Class No. 2; J. Scroggie, 1; Mary Shaw, 2; Ophelia Ward, 3. Middle Division : Katie McCaskey, 43 marks, 1; Maggie Finlayson and Annie Clarke 41 (equal), 2; Jane Mundell, 37, 3. Senior No. 1 : Maggie Scroggie and Gerty Fyfe, 50 marks (equal), 1; Jane Fyfe, 47, 2; Agnes Shaw, 45, 3. Senior No. 2 : Alice Lawson, 46 marks, 1 ; Ethel Walton, 46, 2; Maggie Groves, 39, 3. B o y 8 _Junior No. 1: Berty Walton, 1; Willie Barborough, 2; Leonard Burbcrough, 3. Junior No. 2; Ernest McCaskey, 1; John Lawson, 2; Robert Lawson, 3. Middle Division : Robert Scroggie, 49 marks, 1; Harry Walton, 46, 2; Willie Shaw, 45, 3. Senior ; Willie Fyfe, 60 marks, 1; Geo. Shaw, 45, 2; Geo. Mahan, 42, 3. All the junior scholars, besides those placed first, second, and third, got a prize each. Mrs Dunlop’s four special prizes for good conduct and attention to lessons were gained by Bertie Walton, Wm, Heney, L. Heney, and John Pye. Agnes Shaw got 49 marks out of a possible 50 in the school examination, and was awarded a special prize.
