GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs A. White (chairman), J. Williams, R. Taylor, R. Y. Ferguson, and Maslin, CORRESPONDENCE. From the South Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, informing the Board that its contribution was due.— The amount to be sent. From Mr John Quinn, asking the Board to place his wifeß name in place of his own on the rate roll for section 1847. Application for transfer to be made. From Mr Gapes, offering to lease section 253, adjoining his own Bection, for a term of 7 or 14-. years, at an annual rental of 10s.—The section to be leased to Mr Gapes for a term of seven years at the rental offered. INTERVIEW. Mr Howard waited on the Board, and asked them to grant him a crossing into his paddock.—lt was resolved that the overseer make a pipe crossing in front of the gate leading to Mr Howard's paddock. REPORTS. The overseer's report on work done, and the poundkeeper's report on stray cattle were read without comment. XHE NEW BRIDGE, The overseer at the new concrete bridge on the Pleasant Valley Road reported that the contractors were getting on rapidly with the work, and he considered £4O should now he paid them on their contract. —It was decided to pay the contractors £4O. ACCOUNTS.

Accounts amounting to £lO4 14s 9d, including amount paid to bridge contract, were passed for payment. DOG COLLARS. The chairman was authorised to obtain in Geraldine the usual number of new dog collars. MEETING OF RATEPAYERS. The chairman was requested to call a meeting of ratepayers for next Monday evening to consider the maragement of the Geraldine Cemetery and the advisability of having an elective board. DEAD HORSE CEMETERY. It was resolved " That the Dead Horse Cemetery be closed, and permission be asked from the Geraldine Road Board for the burial of animals in the reserve below the Stone Bridge." The Board then rose.
