CHRISTCHURCII CORN EXCHANGE. The following is the Corn Exchange report (per F. Denham, Secretaryj. for the week ending December ord : Wheat—Most of the millers inform us they have enough stock in hand to keep them going for the next three months, and the fancy prices they have been paying for spot lots no longer exist. The fact staring us in the face is, that our surplus is now at the export value. Oats—The demand from the outside is small, almost nothing, and the local enquiries are very low for speculative transactions whatever. Potatoes are all finished with regard to export, some 2000 tons left over will rot. Central Dairy Factory—We hear the obstructions in the way of building have been removed, and very shortly the foundation stone at Addington will be laid The delay in this step has not been from any fault of the directors ; " red tape " had all to do with it. The following are prices to farmers', f.0.b., packages extra, potatoes and millers goods excepted : Wheat—Prime, 8s 2d; damaged, Is lOd to 2s 3d. Oats—Feed, Is 7d to Is Od ; milling, Is lOd to Is lid. Potatoes— 10s at stations. Grass Seed—We have been asked for Italian rye grass; others neglected. Peas and iieans are not asked for, and i'v.w offering. Butter—Farmers, SdtoUd.; fresh factory, lid, Cheese— 3 £d to od.
