Paris, Nov. 27,
The trial of the directors of the Panama Canal Company is postponed until January 10th, M. Delahaye has repeated his vague accusation against members of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies of corruption in connection with the Panama Canal. He admitted that he was unable to give the names of those concerned, but he mentioned two persons, both of whom are dead. He also admits that he has no material, only moral proofs. He reiterated that Baron Reinarch, one of the defendants who died recently from apoplexy, received the sum of 6,000,000 francs with which to bribe members of the Chamber of Deputies. M. Brisson has been elected president of the Panama Committee of Enquiry. Members of the Chamber of Deputies are supplying evidence.
The Panama Canal Committee condemn the hurried burial of Baron Eeinarch, who died suddenly, and ask that his body be exhumed for the purposes of examination.
