Sydney, Nov. 7. The H.M.S. Curacoa has arrived. The damage sustained by her going ashore at the Islands was trivial, only a few sheets of metal being torn off. The New Stock Bill will be issued to-morrow. Melbourne, Nov. 7, The passengers by the Armand Behic have been fumigated, and released from quarantine. Pygmalion has been sold to a South Australian gentleman for 700 sovs. The Surveyors’ Conference have closed their sitting after considering the Bill embodying their requirements which will be presented to the various Parliaments, 1 Nov. 8. The ship Dumblair, which went ashore at Sandy Point, east of Waratah Bay on September 16th, while on a voyage from Port Pirie to Newcastle in ballast, has been floated off A man named Johnstone and a woman named Harding have been found on itiG banka of Lake fTendoime, Ballarat, suffering from bullet wounds. Mrs Harding and Johnstone recentlv eloped from Melbourne, and decided to die together. Tue man first s rot himself, an t } )en the woman heri ’ jimstone is recovering but no uopes are entertained of Mrs Harding. ADELAIDE, NOV. 8. Sir John Morphew a pioneer colonist, who was President of the Legislative Council from 1865 to 1873, is dead. Particulars which have been received of a native attack on Willeroo Station, Northern Territory, state that the station was completely looted, and Mr Scott, the owner, had his head, arms, and legs, chopped off. Brisbane, Nov. 7. The Government have withdrawn the proceedings instituted against the Howard Smith Steamship Company for breach of the Dividend Act, on condition that the latter pay the costs. The firm accounted for the delay in furnishing the necessary i-eturns. Perth, Nov. 7. The construction of defence works at King George’s Sound is finished and a shipment of guns from the War Office is awaited to complete the defences.
