One of the rewards of tiro successful actor is to get his photograph placed in service as an advertiser of patent medicines That reward has been Henry Irving’s to a remarkable degree, and in connection with it an amusing incident is told. One day while the actor was walking in an English village lie noticed that one of a group of children stared at him in a way that betokened past acquaintance. ‘Do you know me V asked Irving. ‘Yes, sir, I do,’ replied the child. ‘ You are one of Beecham’s pills.’
